1.Our Activities
A broader array of marine environmental problems has recently become our research objects: surveys concerning environmental criteria, denuded seashores deprived of seaweed, marine eutrophication, and biological effects of chemical substances, intensified ultraviolet radiation, elevated CO2 level and increased turbidity by fluvial outflow.

Data Library Activities
Information relating to effects of cooling water intake and discharge and also to ecology of marine organisms are collected and compiled from internal and foreign publications. They are utilized not only by our research stuff but also are made available to electric power companies, fisheries institutions and others concerned.

Academic and Public Relations Activities
Our research achievements are published in academic journals and specific research reports. Bulletins and pamphlets are also distributed to present our research activities to the general public.
In our Exhibition Hall, materials are presented so that people, including school children, may learn about marine life and cooling water system.

Contributing to Local Communities
When local governments and industries in power plant sites are faced with environmental problems concerning cooling water and others, we cooperate with them and undertake related studies in commission, making use of our technical knowledge.
